Terminating the Optometrist/Patient Relationship

Whether a patient has failed to pay outstanding fees, is obstreperous or threatening in demeanor, or does not show up for scheduled appointments, there are some simple and effective ways to legally terminate the doctor/patient relationship. Abandoning a patient who is under care without making reasonable arrangements for the continuation of care can be the basis for a malpractice lawsuit or a professional misconduct charge.
